A photo of former Prime Minister Tony Blair showing off a muscular physique has divided opinions online, with some impressed by the 73-year-old's appearance and others puzzled.
The image, shared on Instagram, shows the ex-Labour leader flexing his arms in a tight-fitting black tank top after a workout with an Indonesian official. The post has drawn a wide range of reactions from users.
Mixed reactions from users
While some users questioned why the two-term PM was pictured in gym attire on the Instagram account of a member of Indonesia's Representative Council, others praised his physical condition.
One user wrote: "At 73 years old he is in great shape to be fair", while another asked "Why can't I take my eyes off that bicep?"
Not everyone was complimentary. One user on X said his defined muscles "reminds me of a snake." Others suggested posing in such a way might not be appropriate for a former Head of State, with one user comparing him to fellow ex-PM James Callaghan.
Workout with Indonesian official
She wrote: "I couldn't imagine Jim Callaghan showing off his gym-toned arms in his 70s. There was always something deeply odd about Blair."
The picture was shared by Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, speaker of Indonesia's Regional Representative Council. In the accompanying post, he wrote briefly about how "special" their gym session had been.
He said: "This afternoon's exercise felt special to be able to exercise with Mr. Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of England. From something as simple as exercising together, it turns out there are many interesting things to share. The most important thing is to stay active, stay healthy and keep spirit."
Blair's Indonesian ties
Blair, who was Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007, has advised the Indonesian government through his Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. He has also served on a steering committee overseeing the construction of Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara, and has been linked to a role on the supervisory board of its sovereign wealth fund, Danantara.
