Sussexes 'Full of Smiles' at King Charles Meeting

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly happy a reunion took place with King Charles on Friday, according to reports. Prince Harry had been in the UK since Monday, while his wife Meghan and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet only arrived days earlier. After arriving in Britain, Meghan and the children met the duke and made their way to Highgrove on Friday, where they spent time with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Family Reunion at Highgrove

It is believed that the family were full of smiles during this meeting, with Meghan and the children having not seen the monarch since 2022. The Daily Mail reports that the meeting happened sometime between 3.30pm and 4pm, and lasted over an hour. An observer told The Daily Mail that Harry, who was at the one-year Invictus Games countdown event earlier that day, was all smiles at the Birmingham event on Friday before the reunion.

Observations from Invictus Event

They said: “Harry turned up at Invictus with a massive smile plastered all over his face. Everybody was looking absolutely delighted. It wasn’t just acting. “Liam [Maguire], his UK aide, looked absolutely like the cat that had got the cream as well. Then rumours started to go round that they were going to Highgrove.”

Private Family Moment

Neither the King or his youngest son have spoken publicly about their meeting. As it was a private family moment, no photographs are expected to be shared. However, it is believed such a reunion could pave the way for a reconciliation that has been awaited for some time, with many ups and downs having happened along the way. The family were reportedly happy to have the reunion after the drama of Harry’s UK visit, from the confusion over his Buckingham Palace invitation to his court defeat.
