Samara Gill has called for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be stripped of their titles, 24 hours after they landed in the UK. Appearing on The Royals Uncensored, the TalkTV star slammed the Sussexes in an explosive episode that Piers Morgan promptly promoted on X.
‘Not good for the royal brand’
Asked if Prince William had been acting more like a “brother rather than a sovereign,” Samara didn’t hold back as she defended his reluctance to forgive and forget.
“I think that Harry and Megan are not good for the royal brand. All they’ve done is trash it. And to be honest, letting them back in will just make the King look weak,” she declared.
“Are you actually thinking that William will strip them of their titles, and that’s how we exit them from the royal family and stop them being part of this equation?” host Jo Elvin mused. “Absolutely,” Samara replied.
Morton weighs in
Weighing in on the matter, Andrew Morton suggested that Samara could have a point. “Well, I’ve thought for a long time that they wouldn’t strip them of their titles,” he began.
“But if you’re looking for a stripped-down monarchy, then it makes logical sense to strip them of their titles. And also others, Beatrice and Eugenie, for example, and to have a really tight fivesome: the King [William], the Queen [Catherine], and their three kids [George, Charlotte and Louis].”
Return to the UK
This week’s episode of The Royals Uncensored dropped 24 hours after Meghan and Harry’s highly publicised return to the UK. Confirmed on Wednesday (26 August), the Sussexes flew into Birmingham Airport on a private jet with their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.
While it is unknown where the family will stay, it is understood that Harry and Meghan will reside in a private, non-royal residence, with their children enrolled in British schools. In the meantime, it has been widely reported that Harry and Meghan might move to the Cotswolds, an affluent region already home to the Beckhams, Kate Moss, and other celebrities.
Whether or not the Sussexes will receive taxpayer-funded protection remains to be seen. However, according to The Mirror, the Home Office is “actively assessing” Harry’s case again, following his pleas for greater security. A Government source said: “Officials have been asked to make a new assessment now that the family in question have chosen to reside in the UK. Any recommendations will be made in due course.”
