Strictly Come Dancing star Will Best has announced the birth of his first child, a son named Sonny, sharing the news with a series of sweet pictures on Instagram.
The presenter, 41, who has been competing on the BBC One dance show for the past few weeks, revealed his partner Tobi Rose had given birth in a post on Thursday (October 15). The carousel of photos opened with a video of the broadcaster jokingly showing off a “really cool new thing I got today” before panning the camera to reveal his newborn son.
Baby announcement and sweet snaps
Will, best known as the co-host of Big Brother, included several photos of himself and Tobi cradling their son, along with a picture of Sonny in a car seat carrier covered in a pastel yellow blanket with the word "lovely" embroidered on it.
In the caption, Will wrote: "Well who do we have here then?! Welcome to the world Sonny Best, you little smasher. @tobiroseofficial you’re a miracle and I love you so much. A couple of tired new parents (see last slide) but oh my goodness aren’t we lucky."
Congratulatory messages from Strictly stars
The comments were inundated with congratulatory messages, including from fellow Strictly stars such as his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell, who welcomed her first child with YouTuber Joe Sugg earlier this year. She said: "Yay I’m so happy for you and Tobi. And Bowie is so excited to meet little Sonny."
Fellow contestant John Nellis replied: "Congratulations mate, absolute warrior dancing on top of it all." Strictly host Josh Widdicombe wrote: "Holy moly!!!! Congratulations mate!" Hits Radio co-host Fleur East shared: "Awww yay!!! Welcome Sonny Best! So excited for you! Congratulations to you and Tobi. Hope you’re all doing well. Go and smash it on that ballroom floor for your little family!" Gemma Atkinson added: "Ahhh congratulations! Beautiful news."
Fatherhood amid Strictly journey
Will had announced his partner's pregnancy in a post to Instagram recapping his summer ahead of Strictly's 2026 series debut last month. He has been in a relationship with Tobi, a stylist, for almost 15 years, and proposed during a romantic getaway to Italy in 2024.
The announcement came among a series of snaps from a holiday to Sicily, rehearsing for his stint in the dancing competition and other glimpses at his life over the past few weeks in his "summer dump". One photo, a mirror selfie, showed Will alongside his fiancée with his hand on her growing baby bump, which he captioned: "Baby, Will?!"
