Stacey Dooley has revealed she makes all the decisions about the home she shares with partner Kevin Clifton and their three-year-old daughter, Minnie. Speaking on The Romesh Ranganathan Show, the 39-year-old described their Liverpool property as an "old beautiful" house and admitted she feels "the business" when it comes to its style and upkeep.
House proud and highly strung
Dooley shared that she is very particular about the home, saying: "You know when you go to view a house and you're like, 'There's not a world where I'd be able to afford this', but then you can, but only because I'm up North." She added: "I love my house and I feel like I'm sort of really house proud, I love doing the house up and then it gets trashed and then I get the hump."
The documentary maker said she does not want Kevin, a former Strictly Come Dancing professional, offering any opinions "whatsoever", joking that the trait is not particularly healthy. Romesh Ranganathan responded: "Listen, you're running a dictatorship," to which Dooley echoed that she had "all the power".
Relationship history
Dooley met Kevin when they competed together on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. After winning the Glitterball together, the pair confirmed their relationship a few months later. In 2023, they welcomed their first child, daughter Minnie.
Dooley has previously spoken about marriage, telling The Sun shortly after Minnie was born: "Marriage has never been massively important to me." Referencing Kevin's past marriages, she added: "Also, it's well documented that Kev's done it a couple of times before. So, you do have to bear that in mind, coming down the aisle like, 'Hello everyone, I know what you're all thinking.' It's just never been something I've dreamt about."
Praise for Kevin as a father
She has praised Kevin as a dad, saying that having their daughter has only made her love him more. "I don't want to sound too gushing or soppy, but I couldn't have done this without Kev," she said. "I couldn't have done this with anyone else."
Kevin was previously married to professional dancer Clare Craze from 2007 to 2013, before marrying Strictly's Karen Hauer, who left the show last year. It is also believed that he married Latin world champion Anna Melnikova when he was just 20 years old in 2003.
