Queen Camilla gave a rare update on her rescue dog Moley during the first day of the Oman state visit, revealing that the puppy is “such an angel” while King Charles reportedly calls her a “horror”.
Queen Camilla's Conversation on the Royal Dais
Her Majesty was standing on the royal dais in Windsor alongside her husband, King Charles, as they awaited the Sultan of Oman. While waiting, Queen Camilla was seen speaking to a member of the Royal Household, believed to be her equerry, Rob Treasure, who was wearing his Rifles uniform. She was thought to be talking about Moley, who joined her and King Charles’ family in February 2025.
Lip reader Nicola Hickling told the Daily Express that Camilla told the officer, who was photographed from behind, that Moley is “such an angel”. She also revealed that Charles thinks Moley is a “horror”.
Details of Moley's Behavior and Rescue
Ms Hickling claims the Queen said: “My little Moley is such an angel. We sit together, and she likes to nap on my lap. She follows me into the garden. She is so adorable. She tries to go off and takes the treats in the store, and she is so clever. She doesn’t cause a shambles, though. Yes, yes.”
Camilla then said: “Charles tells her to stay, but she runs rings around him. He says she is a horror. She was fortunate to come home with me. I saw her at the Battersea rescue and just fell in love. She will be two years old at Christmas.”
Update on Bluebell and the State Visit
The Queen, who looked striking in red, then shared an update on her other rescue dog Bluebell, whom she rescued from Battersea in 2012. She was seen saying: “Yes, I have Blue. She’s getting on a bit now. Unfortunately, she is slowing down somewhat.” The response from her equerry could not be lip-read.
The conversation took place ahead of the Sultan of Oman's arrival on the royal dais. He arrived with Prince William, after the Prince of Wales had greeted him in London. After being met by Their Majesties, the royals and the Sultan took a carriage procession to Windsor Castle. They braved the wet and windy weather to watch the guard of honour and inspect the troops. They also listened to the national anthems play.
The royals have now headed into Windsor Castle, where they will spend more time together before tonight’s state banquet.
