The pair were seen leaving Buckingham Palace in a horse-drawn carriage, following behind King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Kate wore a snow-white dress adorned with a pure black trim and tie, while Princess Charlotte reversed the colours, sporting a black pinafore with ivory trim and tie. The matching ensembles delighted royal fans lining the parade route, many of whom were eager to see the Princess after her cancer diagnosis.
It was Kate's first public appearance since revealing she is undergoing chemotherapy for an unspecified form of cancer. In a statement released earlier today, she acknowledged enduring 'harder times', saying: 'I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.'
The Princess added that her treatment is ongoing and will continue for 'a few more months'. She expressed that on days when she feels well, she enjoys spending time on 'things that give me energy and positivity', including engaging with school life and doing some work from home.
Both Kate and the Palace have emphasised that her public duties, including today's appearance, are not set in stone and depend on her health. The Princess acknowledged she is 'not out of the woods', and the Palace confirmed plans could change at short notice.
