Princess Anne has won widespread praise after a video showed her handing her umbrella to a woman cleric during a rainy engagement in London. The Princess Royal was attending the Trinitytide anniversary annual court meeting and luncheon at St Olave's Church on Wednesday.
Dressed in her ceremonial naval uniform as Master of the Corporation of Trinity House, Anne was seen in footage shared on social media by Marks London reels. In the clip, she asks for an umbrella and gives it to the chaplain walking beside her, before continuing unfazed by the heavy rain.
Royal fans took to social media to commend the gesture. One user on X wrote: 'What a sweet gesture she did.' Another commented: 'She is such a trooper. Regardless of the weather, she shows up to do her duty.' A third added: 'The Princess Royal is, in my opinion, the cream of the crop of the Royal family.'
Anne is frequently regarded as the hardest-working member of the Royal Family, consistently undertaking the most engagements each year. However, figures from last year show that her brother, King Charles III, carried out the most engagements in 2025, despite undergoing cancer treatment.
