The event, held on the third Tuesday of September, marked the first time the Princess of Orange attended.
King Willem-Alexander, 55, wore Morning Dress with the miniature pin of the Military William Order, the highest honour of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Queen Maxima opted for an ice-grey frock coat with a wrap scarf made of air-mesh/neoprene, paired with a matching hat made from recycled material. She accessorised with diamond earrings, her diamond rivière, and the Sash and Star of the Order of the Netherlands Lion.
Princess Amalia wore a dark green voile dress from ASOS costing £86, complemented by a pink hat. She chose an emerald necklace and earrings with a long Dutch royal history, believed to have belonged to 18th-century Princess Wilhelmina of Prussia. The entire parure, made adaptable to be worn with pearls around Queen Maxima's wedding, includes large earrings, a brooch, a necklace, and a cabochon duck-egg pendant. Amalia also wore diamond stars and the Sash and Star of the Order of the Netherlands Lion.
The Dutch Royal Family travelled in the Glass Coach from Noordeinde Palace to the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague. After the King delivered his Budget Speech, the family returned to Noordeinde Palace and appeared on the balcony.
