King Charles and Prince William have reportedly agreed that inviting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Balmoral this summer is not feasible, according to royal author Tom Quinn. The decision comes amid a challenging year for the royal family, with both the monarch and the Princess of Wales undergoing cancer treatment.
Quinn told the Mirror that the family does not want Harry at Balmoral, stating, 'With Kate and Charles in a difficult place, the last thing the family needs is Harry at Balmoral.' He added that inviting Harry without Meghan would be impossible, as it would give Harry material for a sequel to his memoir, Spare.
Princess Kate is expected to join the royal family at Balmoral later this month, marking her longest journey since her cancer diagnosis. She will be accompanied by Prince William and their three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. The King is currently at the Castle of Mey in Caithness.
Balmoral holds deep significance for William, as it is where he has both happy childhood memories and the sad memory of learning of his mother Princess Diana's death in 1997. The estate has been a regular summer destination for William and Kate since their marriage in 2011.
