The Prince of Wales is set to appear on the New Heights podcast, co-hosted by Travis Kelce, the fiance of pop superstar Taylor Swift. The episode comes just before the couple's highly anticipated wedding, expected to take place later on Friday at New York's Madison Square Garden.
William's Podcast Appearance
William will chat with Travis Kelce, an American football player, and his brother Jason Kelce, a retired NFL star. Jason introduced William to listeners as a “six-foot-three prince from London, England” and listed his many titles: “That’s right, the president of the English Football Association, the vice-royal patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of Cornwall, the Lord of the Isles, Prince and Great Steward of Scotland, Earl of Chester and the Prince of Wales… please welcome His Royal Highness, Prince William.”
In an extract from the pre-recorded show, William smiled and laughed, responding: “That was quite an intro guys, amazing.” Travis replied: “We had to do it big for you, had to do it big.”
Wedding Invitation Joke
During an appearance on Heart Radio’s breakfast show in May, the future king joked about receiving an invitation to the wedding of the summer. When asked, he initially said “no comment” and laughed. William added: “That feels like a showbiz excuse but it’s not. I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see.”
William and Taylor Swift's Connection
The prince has a history with Swift. Last year, he took his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to see her Eras Tour concert in London and introduced them to the singer backstage. In 2013, William joined Swift and US rock star Jon Bon Jovi on stage for an impromptu rendition of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer” at a charity event at Kensington Palace for the homeless charity Centrepoint.
