Prince William has recorded an appearance on the New Heights podcast, co-hosted by American football star Travis Kelce, just days before Kelce's rumoured wedding to pop icon Taylor Swift. The wedding is reportedly scheduled for Friday at New York's Madison Square Garden.
William's Grand Introduction
In an extract from the pre-recorded episode, Jason Kelce, Travis's brother and co-host, introduced the Prince of Wales with a lengthy list of his titles: "That's right, the president of the English Football Association, the vice-royal patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of Cornwall, the Lord of the Isles, Prince and Great Steward of Scotland, Earl of Chester and the Prince of Wales… please welcome His Royal Highness, Prince William."
William responded with a smile and laughter, saying: "That was quite an intro guys, amazing." Travis replied: "We had to do it big for you, had to do it big."
Wedding Invitation Hints
During an appearance on Heart Radio's breakfast show in May, the future king joked about receiving an invitation to the highly anticipated summer wedding. When asked, he initially said "no comment" before laughing. He added: "That feels like a showbiz excuse but it's not. I'm hoping, and I'm sure there might be an invitation around, but we'll see."
Royal Connection to Swift
Prince William has a personal connection with Taylor Swift, having taken his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to see her Eras Tour concert in London in 2024. The singer posted a photo on Instagram of herself with William, George, Charlotte and Travis Kelce, captioned: "Happy Birthday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start." William was celebrating his 42nd birthday at the Wembley Stadium show, the first of Swift's London concerts.
Earlier, in 2013, William joined Swift and US rock star Jon Bon Jovi on stage for an impromptu rendition of Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer" at a charity event held at Kensington Palace in aid of the homeless charity Centrepoint.
