Prince Louis is celebrating his sixth birthday today, but the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales has yet to achieve a significant royal milestone that his younger cousin Archie has already accomplished. While Louis has taken part in major events such as the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee and the King's Coronation, he has never been on an overseas royal tour.
Prince Archie, who is five and lives in America with parents Harry and Meghan, went on his first royal tour at just a few months old during the family's 2019 visit to South Africa. In contrast, Louis's older siblings George and Charlotte also made their tour debuts at younger ages: George visited Australia and New Zealand at nine months, and Charlotte accompanied the family to Canada at 16 months.
Louis carried out his first official royal engagement last year to mark the Coronation, joining his parents and siblings for the Big Help Out. He attends Lambrook School near Ascot alongside George and Charlotte, and has recently returned after the Easter break.
Before the holidays, his mother Kate revealed she is undergoing treatment for cancer, describing the news as a 'huge shock'. The video announcement was timed to coincide with the start of the school holidays to shield the children from media coverage.
