Prince Harry's Two-Word Reply to 'Look After Meghan' Request
Prince Harry's Two-Word Reply to Meghan Request

Prince Harry gave a simple two-word response this week when a member of the public told him to "look after" his wife. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out on Thursday for charitable visits in Nottingham, their first official public outing together since moving back to Britain this summer.

Although they are not working royals, the couple carried out a royal-style public walkabout before and after visiting charities. They greeted members of the public, took selfies, and received gifts and flowers.

Fans' Instruction to the Duke

During the walkabout, Meghan appeared to be showered with affection from fans, including a group of women. After hugging and praising Meghan, the women gave Harry a strict instruction, saying: "Harry, look after her."

The duke smiled at the request and replied "Of course" multiple times, reassuring the women that he would do just that. The moment was caught on camera, with many commenting on how lovely it was.

One person wrote: "The way he responded to the aunties when they asked him to look after her — that speaks volumes." Someone else said: "He's very protective of her as he should be." Another person wrote: "So much love in this moment."

First Joint Outing Since UK Return

The Nottingham visit was the first official public outing Harry and Meghan have done together since moving back to the UK in August. While Harry had attended various events alone before this, Meghan had not.

Instead, she had been keeping a low profile, with her main focus being to ensure her children Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, settle into UK life. Reports suggest the children are now settled into their British school and enjoying life in Britain.

It is not known when Harry and Meghan are next set to appear in public together, however it is believed they were "thrilled" with the reception they received in Nottingham. Speaking after the visit, a spokesperson for the couple told PEOPLE: "Everyone came away feeling really positive and genuinely thrilled by the love and support they received."

Meghan's Joy at Being Back

Meghan, who did not enjoy life in Britain as a working royal before the couple quit in 2020, also looked genuinely happy to be back in her husband's home country. The duchess was heard telling one person in the crowd: "Oh it's great to be back".

The duchess has also shared snippets of UK life on her Instagram over the last few months, including photographs and videos of country walks and cosy log fires with Harry, Archie and Lilibet. It is still not known how long the family plan to stay in Britain, however it is being treated as their permanent base for now. They still own their home in Montecito, California.
