Prince Harry has revealed how life in the UK has been going nearly a month after he and Meghan Markle returned to Britain. The couple landed back on British soil at the end of August, ending years of speculation over whether they would ever live in the UK again.
The Sussexes are said to be living in the Cotswolds, a region popular with celebrities and preferred for the privacy it offers. Their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have also made the move.
'Good to be back'
Speaking to Hello! Magazine, Harry said: “We’re happy.” Asked by PEOPLE how his return to the UK has been so far, he responded that it is “good to be back”. He added: “Good. It’s good to be back on British soil.”
This is not the first time the prince has expressed joy at living in his homeland again. He has spoken about how much he loves his country on various occasions.
Ode to British culture
One of his most well-known tributes to his homeland came in an essay he published prior to Remembrance events. In it, Harry said “banter” in pubs and sports grounds, and a spirit of good-humoured “self-deprecation” are some of the best things about UK culture.
The essay examined what it means to be British, with the prince highlighting some of his favourite aspects of life as a Brit. He penned: “The banter of the mess, the clubhouse, the pub, the stands - ridiculous as it sounds, these are the things that make us British. I make no apology for it. I love it.”
Reflecting on his time in the military, he wrote: “Britain is, and always will be, the country I proudly served and fought for.”
Children enrolled in British schools
The Sussexes have now enrolled their children at British schools and will be staying in the UK for what has been called an extended period of time.
