Prince Harry Moved by Princess Diana Compliment from Fan

Royal fans have been left emotional after a clip of Prince Harry being told he is like his mother has circulated online. On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Nottingham to spend time with various charities. When they arrived, they were met with cheering, hugs, handshakes and selfie requests. Meghan and Harry were both also presented with flowers and gifts for their children.

Moment Between Prince and Fan

While this was a lovely reception, one moment between the prince and a fan seems to have caught the attention of royal fans. This happened when Harry and Meghan were leaving one of their charitable engagements and met some members of the public. The group of women they met were very clearly fans of the duke and duchess, hugging them and showering them with compliments.

One of the women even joked around with Harry, with her and the prince taking in turns to tell each other how “lovely” they are. After the interaction, the woman could be heard telling Harry: “You’re like your mother.” This would have been well received by Harry, who often talks fondly about his late mother, Princess Diana, who died in 1997.

Fans React Online

The moment was caught on camera and shared on X, with many fans saying it made them emotional. One person wrote: “‘You’re like your mother. So affirming.” Another said: “That comment about his mother made me sentimental.” Someone else wrote: “Diana got the same reception, public loves them.”

The duke frequently speaks about his mother, especially in the last few months. While he was just 12 when she died, the duke has always said he wants to carry his mother’s legacy and make her proud.

Harry's Reflections on His Mother

Not long ago, the Duke of Sussex appeared on the American educational platform MasterClass in an episode titled "Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss." He said on this: "Everything I do, everything I put my energy towards, I hope that my mother will be proud of."

He continued: "Trying to continue and protect her legacy, what I didn't realise was that the work I was drawn to was so similar to the work she was doing." Harry also said that he frequently looks at a photograph of his mother, which makes him feel “connected to her”. He revealed: “I can actually get eye contact from her, and there’s a cheekiness in her smile... I just feel very connected to her, “I find myself looking at her and wondering, what is she thinking about what I am doing right now?”
