Prince George Praised for Self-Control After Trooping Sneezing Incident
Prince George Praised for Self-Control During Trooping

Prince George was praised for his level of self-control after he was caught on camera holding a sneeze until the national anthem was over during Trooping the Colour. The second in line to the British throne joined his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Saturday afternoon for the annual RAF flypast, following the trooping ceremony.

George quickly stood to attention as God Save the King played. He was seen paying close attention until the national anthem ended, after which he covered his mouth and sneezed. His mother, Catherine, quickly checked on him, and he reassured her with a smile.

Public Praise for the Young Prince

In a video shared by Hello! Magazine on Facebook, a caption read: Prince George deserves a medal for this level of self-control. He held on to that sneeze through the entirety of God Save the King and only let it out once it was over. Impeccable timing!

The Trooping the Colour Event

On Saturday, the royals joined thousands of spectators in Whitehall for the celebrations, which ended with them assembled on Buckingham Palace’s balcony for the flypast. Crowds were treated to the sight of a royal carriage procession along The Mall as the King, Queen and the Princess of Wales, likely joined by her children, were guarded by a Sovereign’s Escort provided by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

Riding in the formation were the royal colonels – the Prince of Wales, who is Colonel of the Welsh Guards; the Princess Royal, Colonel of the Blues and Royals; and the Duke of Edinburgh as Colonel of the Scots Guards. The Colour – the regimental flag – being trooped this year was the King’s Colour of the Grenadier Guards.

The royals appeared to ignore a group of anti-monarchy protesters who booed as the King and Queen passed by on The Mall. Members of the campaign group Republic could be seen holding placards, one reading down with the crown, and one person was heard shouting not my King.
