King Charles and Queen Camilla are preparing for their annual family time at the Balmoral estate next month. The King has continued the late Queen Elizabeth II's tradition of prioritizing family time at the Scottish estate, with the Prince and Princess of Wales likely to join with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Although it remains unknown who else will join the King, Princess Anne could also be set to attend, as well as Zara Tindall and her family. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have also been known to prioritize family time every August.
Two royals who are not expected to join the family in Scotland are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who recently spent time in the UK with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple travelled to Highgrove House to meet with the King and Queen on July 10. That meeting saw the 77-year-old monarch reunite with his two youngest grandchildren for the first time since 2022.
Harry and Meghan's Children Never at Balmoral
As they are being raised in the US, Archie and Lilibet have never spent a summer at Balmoral with their royal cousins. Meghan, who married Harry in 2018, has also never spent time with the royals at the late Queen's much-loved estate.
Harry previously wrote about spending time at Balmoral in his 2023 memoir Spare, describing it as paradise. He wrote: "To me, Balmoral was always simply Paradise. A cross between Disney World and some sacred Druid grove."
He added: "I was always too busy fishing, shooting, running up and down 'the hill' to notice anything off about the feng shui of the old castle." And: "What I'm trying to say is I was happy there. In fact, it's possible that I was never happier than that one golden summer day at Balmoral: August 30, 1997."
The date refers to the day before his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, died while visiting Paris.
