King Charles has welcomed a new addition to the royal family as baby Isabel Marina Vesterberg was born on July 8, bringing joy to the monarch and his relatives. The infant is the daughter of Flora Vesterberg (née Ogilvy), 31, and her husband Timothy Vesterberg, a Swedish financier. Flora is the granddaughter of Princess Alexandra, 89, The Honourable Lady Ogilvy, the only living granddaughter of King George V, making Isabel a distant cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry.
Royal Birth Announced Amid Family Reunion
The announcement comes shortly after King Charles reunited with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, at his Highgrove residence. The meeting, which took place on Friday, July 10, marked the first time the children saw their grandfather in person since Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Queen Camilla, who has a private home near Highgrove, was also reportedly present.
Flora Vesterberg shared the news on Instagram, posting a picture of Isabel and writing: "Our daughter Isabel Marina Vesterberg arrived safely on the morning of 8 July. Timothy and I are overjoyed and full of love for her. She's named for the blessing that she is as well as my paternal great-grandmother. Her name also means ‘of the sea’ where we always feel most at peace in Scotland and Sweden."
Family Background and Connections
Flora Vesterberg, who married Timothy Vesterberg at St James's Palace in 2020, had a marriage blessing a year later attended by Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, and Lady Gabriella Windsor. As the granddaughter of Princess Alexandra, Flora is a third cousin of King Charles and a distant cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry. The new baby, Isabel Marina Vesterberg, is the latest addition to the extended royal family, strengthening ties between the monarch's line and the Ogilvy branch.
