The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out together last Thursday in Nottingham to visit charities they care deeply about. As the couple are not working royals, even though they recently moved back to Britain, they carried out these visits as private citizens. Despite this, crowds gathered to see the royal couple, showering them with hugs, handshakes and flowers.
Charity Shares Behind-the-Scenes Photographs
Not only were the crowds in Nottingham excited to see the couple, but the charities were too. This includes the charity Himmah, which helps people in crisis with food, clothing and emergency support. The charity also works alongside people to help them build skills, wellbeing, security and community power.
The charity is one that Harry and Meghan care deeply about, with the Duchess donating £10,000 to Himmah from her cookbook, Together: Our Community Cookbook, in 2021. Prince Harry also donated to the charity later on.
Couple Join Cooking Class and Food Bank Visit
People involved with the charity have since released behind-the-scenes photographs of the special visit, thanking the couple for everything they have done. When sharing the photographs on social media, the charity wrote: “A Duke & Duchess walk into Himmah… what a day.”
The caption continued: “We were honoured to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Himmah, joining a cooking class, sharing the meal with our partner organisations, then visiting our food bank to pack parcels and tour the building. Behind every meal and parcel are people who care deeply about our community.
“Today was a chance to share that care and celebrate the team who make it possible. Thank you for visiting our space, spending time with our team and being part of our community today. A day we’ll hold close to our hearts.”
Possible US Red-Carpet Appearance
The photographs included snaps of Harry and Meghan cooking together, helping at the foodbank, and taking selfies with volunteers. The couple looked happy to be there. It is not known when Harry and Meghan will next step out together for a public outing in the UK. However, it is believed that the Duchess could attend a red-carpet event in the US soon.
This is because the Duchess is up for a 2026 Daytime Emmy Award for her Netflix show “With Love, Meghan”. The show is in the Outstanding Lifestyle Programme category. The award ceremony, taking place on October 30, will reveal the winners of the Daytime Emmy Awards. The ceremony will be held at the Hollywood Palladium in LA, California. It has not been confirmed whether Harry and Meghan will attend.
