Royal biographer Andrew Lownie has cast doubt on Meghan Markle's ability to settle into life in the Cotswolds as Prince Harry and Meghan prepare to return to the UK after six years in California.
The couple's plans reportedly involve living in a celebrity-owned house in the scenic Cotswolds region of England. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are due to start British school in September, meaning the former senior royals are expected to return to Britain within days.
Biographer questions Meghan's enjoyment of quiet life
Speaking on The Daily T podcast, Lownie said: "I can't see Meghan enjoying a Cotswolds winter with the rain coming down, and her mother a long way away. So I just can't see this working."
The British media has been instructed by the press regulator not to reveal the location of the couple's new family home or the children's school.
Couple to keep Montecito home
It has been reported that Harry and Meghan will keep their home in Montecito, California, amid their return to the UK. Meghan is also expected to continue working on her brand, As Ever, and is reportedly in talks to return to acting in season 3 of Netflix's The Gentlemen.
Palace silent on return plans
Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace made any statements about Harry and Meghan's planned return. The couple remain estranged from Prince William and Princess Kate.
King Charles III was reportedly surprised by the decision, having learned of the plans only days before they were made public. Harry and Meghan reunited with the King and Queen Camilla during a closed-door meeting in July, which led to speculation about more regular visits, though few royal sources had predicted a full return.
