An insider has claimed Meghan Markle "wants to humiliate" Princess Kate and Prince William with one move. The source added that Meghan is "furious."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have only recently begun settling back into life in Britain, but tensions within the Royal Family are reportedly far from over. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have been caught off guard by a recent Buckingham Palace statement reaffirming their position as non-working members of the Royal Family earlier this month.
Palace Statement Sparks Surprise
A spokesperson for the couple said they were "surprised" to see the letter sent on behalf of King Charles clarifying that Prince Harry and Meghan remained non-working royals. The spokesperson said the Sussexes "were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance."
Now an insider has reportedly claimed that Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, played an important role in the Palace's decision to make the Sussexes' position clear, allegedly leaving Meghan "furious."
Insider Claims of Humiliation Plan
As reported by Heat World, the source said: "The latest statement from the Palace was very much pushed by William and Kate – and Meghan knows that. The Waleses have felt totally blindsided by the way Harry and Meghan announced their arrival back to the UK, and with everything that’s happened over the last few years, they just don’t trust them. There is nothing new in the statement, but William felt it was necessary to remind them where the lines are drawn before anything happens."
"Meghan is furious over it. She has no intention of allowing the Palace to push her aside or treat her as though she is no longer important, especially by William and Kate. She won’t let them stand in her way."
They also alleged that the Duchess wishes to "humiliate" the royal couple by showing that she and Prince Harry can build their own influential network within Britain.
The insider claimed: "Meghan wants to build a life in Britain that does not depend on the approval of William and Kate. If the senior royals refuse to make room for the Sussexes, Meghan will create her own network around the royals who are prepared to accept them. She sees the Cotswolds as the perfect place to establish her own royal circle and shore up her defences after feeling shut out by the family."
Rebuilding Family Bonds
"Princess Beatrice and her young family have already visited the Sussexes at their new home. And there’s talk that Harry, Meghan and the kids have already visited the Gatcombe Park estate, where Zara and Mike Tindall live with their three children."
"So some of the broken family bonds are already being rebuilt, and Meghan wants to use them to show William and Kate up for trying to cut them out. She wants to humiliate them with her new powerful circle and show them that they don’t have complete control over the Royal Family or her."
Last month, Meghan, Harry and their two children and dogs made a surprise return to the UK, with plans to live in Britain for an "extended" period. Their children are now being schooled in Britain. They arrived back in the UK on August 26, landing at Birmingham Airport following six years of living in California.
Meghan has since shared a glimpse of her family's life since moving back to the UK on Instagram from splashing in puddles during muddy countryside walks to evenings by the fire and a clip showing her children riding their bikes in the countryside as deer can be spotted in the distance.
On Monday, the Duchess was spotted on her first public outing since the move back to the UK. She was spotted in the Cotswolds at a local pub with friends TV show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife and Arrested Development star, Portia de Rossi. She was also reportedly spotted at Soho Farmhouse earlier this month.
