Meghan Markle has been roasted by royal fans over her new Instagram story post, which shows her laughing in a buggy cart with a male friend. The video, with Michael Buble's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) playing over the top, shows an on-screen caption at the start that reads "Christmas planning in June".
Video filmed in California
The video was clearly filmed whilst the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still lived in California, with the couple moving to the UK just two months later with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The video was posted to her story just hours after Meghan revealed she was releasing a brand-new festive As Ever product.
The product, a twenty-four-chocolate advent calendar inspired by their Montecito mansion, is available to buy today, October 1. Meghan and her friend are seen laughing whilst staring directly at the camera, which Meghan appears to be holding.
Royal fans react
Taking to X, royal fans were not impressed by the latest video, which also featured the couple's dog, Pula, holding an As Ever-inspired toy in her mouth. One wrote that it was "cringe", adding: "So cringe given their house is the laughing stock of Montecito bc it’s so hilariously dated. It needed a torch and a gut reno[vation] when they bought it."
Putting it on a sh**** advent calendar she’ll be discounting in yet another ‘bundle’ when she can’t shift them is not a flex." Another wrote: "Super fake."
Fans delighted
Despite these comments, some fans appeared delighted and excited for the new release. One added: "She looks so radiant [teary-eyed emoji]," whilst another posted screenshots of Meghan from the video, writing, "Lovely Meghan [black-heart emoji]." Another also added: "Is this recent? I am so happy to see her refreshed, moisturised, and living in JOY."
