Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, offered candid marriage advice to a bride-to-be during her recent tour of Australia. The 44-year-old was photographed speaking to a woman named Ellie, whom she wished 'a lifetime of love' ahead of her wedding.
Meghan, who has been married to Prince Harry for nearly eight years, said: 'I just wanted to say congratulations on your wedding. Enjoy the wedding, but it's more about the marriage... Sending you love all over the world. Your dad is awesome.' The interaction took place during a visit to Bondi Beach in Sydney, on the final day of the couple's four-day trip to Australia.
The Duchess met Harry ten years ago through a mutual friend while she was in London for the Wimbledon tournament. They began dating in 2016, two years after Meghan's divorce from film producer Trevor Engelson. The couple married in May 2018 in a ceremony watched by over 27 million viewers, and have since had two children: Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
In her Netflix lifestyle series 'With Love, Meghan', the Duchess revealed that she and Harry first said 'I love you' on their third date during a camping trip to Botswana. The couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the US, where they now live in Montecito with their children. They will celebrate six years of marriage on May 19.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Bondi Beach to meet first responders and survivors of the December 2025 Bondi Beach terror attack, along with representatives of the Sydney Jewish Museum. The sweet moment was praised on social media, with one fan commenting: 'This is a nice thing to say... She made some random lady's day, made her dad feel special.'
