Meghan Markle faces Cotswolds locals' fury over presence

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly received a mixed reception from residents in the Cotswolds, according to reports. American journalist Paula Froelich said the Sussexes' Cotswolds arrival was met with a lukewarm reception, with one resident saying: "People really just don't like her."

Residents complain about Duchess's presence

Another source said that Meghan is frequently spotted at Daylesford Organic Farm Shop in Moreton-in-Marsh. An insider described how the Duchess "arrives on her own with a coterie of bodyguards during prime shopping times" and "walks around as if she is very important," other reports suggested.

The Sussexes are understood to have made their home in an isolated 18th-century farmhouse situated in the Cotswolds countryside.

Security concerns and local criticism

Gloucestershire Live also reported that some locals complained about Meghan's high-profile presence, "terribly inconvenient and annoying," while others allegedly said, "just ignore her."

Other reports added that residents found Meghan's preoccupation with security to be "hysterical," adding that certain employees at The Three Horseshoes pub have allegedly "refused to serve" her, the Mirror said.

Security review and possible return to US

Prince Harry and Meghan have also recently been criticised by royal commentators for trying to control the outcome of their state-funded security review since returning to the UK.

The couple are now rumoured to want to return to the US for good if the latest review on their security, which was downgraded since their bombshell royal exit, does not go their way.

Royal commentator Angela Levin told TalkTV: "It's blackmail, isn't it? That's what I think. If the two of them now, if you don't give them exactly what they want, when they want, I think it's a blackmail thing. If they do go back, I'd be delighted; they are real nuances and extremely unpleasant here (in the UK). Why should we pay them money for everything they're doing? They're not doing anything (for us)."

It was also reported that Harry and Meghan took their two children out of their new school in the Cotswolds over security concerns after their convoy was separated by school traffic. Associates of the duo have allegedly hinted that should Harry and Meghan be denied taxpayer-funded police protection, they'll relocate back to America.
