Meghan Markle Faces Banned List at Clarkson's Pub After Snub

The Duchess of Sussex could be banned from Jeremy Clarkson's pub after Express readers voted overwhelmingly in favor of excluding her. Over 91% of 4,140 readers said yes when asked whether the former Top Gear host should be added to the banned list, while only 7% voted no and 2% said they didn't know.

Pub Visit Sparks Backlash

Last week, Meghan Markle made her first public outing in the UK since returning to Britain, visiting The Three Horseshoes near Burford, Oxfordshire, with her friend Ellen DeGeneres. The pair chose the rival eatery, located just 20 minutes from Clarkson's Amazon Prime public house, instead of his establishment.

The visit comes as the Duchess attempts to adjust to British life, but the choice of venue has fueled speculation about a deliberate snub of the Clarkson's Farm star.

No Love Lost

Clarkson famously wrote that he "hates" Meghan "on a cellular level" in his 2022 Sun column. He said he was "dreaming of the day" she would be "made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while crowds chant, 'Shame!' and throw lumps of excrement at her." He later apologized, calling the words a "clumsy reference" to a Game of Thrones scene.

Should Meghan be added to the list, she would join Clarkson's former co-stars James May and Richard Hammond, as well as former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who are already excluded.

Further Setbacks

The news follows another blow for the Duchess earlier this week when her former Hollywood agent, Ari Emanuel, spoke about the end of their working relationship. In 2025, Emanuel confirmed that his agency, William Morris Endeavour (WME), had quietly ended its representation of Markle after two years. In an interview with The Sunday Times, he expressed relief, saying, "Here's the great thing, I don't have to think about that anymore."

Broadcaster Dee Dee Dunleavy commented on the developments, telling Rita Panahi on News24 that "no one in Hollywood wants to be associated with Meghan" anymore. She noted that Emanuel is "one of the biggest power players in Hollywood" and is "used to dealing with all sorts of difficult characters." Reports following WME dropping Meghan in early 2025 suggested she was "too demanding" and "difficult to work with."
