King Charles has sent a personal letter and flowers to Holocaust survivor Lily Ebert ahead of her 100th birthday, praising her "extraordinary strength of spirit, resilience, and courage."
Ms Ebert, who was liberated from a death march by a US soldier in 1945, said she was "so touched" by the King's gesture.
The King acknowledged the "terrible suffering" Ms Ebert endured, noting that it "can never be adequately described."
Ms Ebert, who lives in London and received an MBE in January for services to Holocaust education, also received birthday wishes from Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and television host Rachel Riley.
She said she felt honoured by the King's support for her work as a Holocaust survivor advocate.
Ms Ebert's mother, brothers and sister were killed at Auschwitz, and she has since gained millions of followers on social media sharing her story.
