Royal Reconciliation
Prince Harry's relationship with his father appears to be improving, with King Charles reportedly offering his son a room at Buckingham Palace next week. The Duke of Sussex, 41, is set to return to Britain in a few weeks for a series of engagements centered around the annual WellChild Awards.
Sources indicate the prince is set to accept the generous offer from his father. Last time Harry visited the UK, he reportedly left it too late to book a royal room and ended up in private accommodation. The King's patience had snapped.
Olive Branch Accepted
This time, Harry has accepted the offer well in advance. He currently gives UK police and Royal officials 28 days notice of arrival. Royal author Robert Jobson said the King's gesture was a positive sign of relations with the Sussexes continuing to improve. He said: 'Obviously there does appear to be a sense that it's a gradual process and things are improving.'
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, added: 'Harry realises it is a very generous offer by his father and needs to respect that this time and be gracious about it. This is a chance perhaps for Harry to show his father he knows how to behave.'
Security and Family
It is not known whether Prince Harry's wife, Meghan, or their children Lilibet and Archie will accompany him. Since stepping back from royal duties and moving to America, the Sussexes lost their automatic right to taxpayer-funded police bodyguards in Britain. Despite Harry's appeals and a lost High Court battle against the Home Office last year, he has been repeatedly turned down for full-time protection.
