King Charles is beginning his first full day of engagements in The Bahamas, following his arrival for a nine-day tour. Buckingham Palace has released a rare photograph of the monarch mid-flight, showing him reading official papers while seated in RAF Voyager.
The King touched down shortly after 4pm local time and headed to a Youth Rally, where he watched performances from young people and delivered a speech acknowledging "the great suffering" caused by Britain's historic role in the transatlantic slave trade.

The palace shared the image with a message reading: "Looking forward to joining the people of The Bahamas. When travelling, the King likes to spend time reading briefing papers, continuing with his Government red box duties, reading and writing correspondence, and discussing projects with his support team."
The photograph offers a rare glimpse into the King's travel routine, highlighting his official duties during the flight.
Six Engagements Planned for the Day
Today's schedule includes six engagements, among them a Junkanoo Parade on Parliament Square, a visit to Bonefish Pond National Park, a visit to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force at Coral Harbour, and a garden reception.
