King Charles and Prince William 'well aware' of Tindalls' royal power
King Charles and William 'well aware' of Tindalls' royal power

King Charles and Prince William are reportedly "well aware" of the royal power that Mike Tindall and his wife, Zara, hold. The couple, who are not official working royals, are seen as a "huge boost" to the monarchy's modern image, with the King and the Prince of Wales said to rely heavily on their down-to-earth appeal behind closed doors.

Tindalls' Natural Charm a 'Massive Asset'

Grant Harrold, who served as a butler to King Charles for seven years, explained that while the Tindalls have no desire to take on official duties, their natural charm is a significant advantage for the Palace. "They're not working royals and, to be frank, they don't want to be," Mr Harrold revealed.

Speaking on behalf of Smooth Spins, he said: "They've got a good set-up at the moment, and I can't see that changing from an official point." Despite remaining outside the fold of official working royals, Mike and Zara are widely considered a breath of fresh air for the monarchy.

Down-to-Earth Appeal as a 'Secret Weapon'

Their down-to-earth nature is seen as the ultimate secret weapon for the senior ranks of the Royal Family. Mr Harrold explained: "It shows the family in a really good light, and shows off a very 'normal' and modern side that we don't always get to see with the senior members of The Firm."

The couple, who married in 2011, have built highly successful independent sporting careers—Zara as an Olympic equestrian and Mike as a World Cup-winning rugby legend. "Whenever they do interviews or celebrity appearances, they go down a storm, and the King and Prince William are well aware of this," Mr Harrold added, noting that the royals would be "daft" not to make the most of the Tindalls' public appeal.

Key Support in Family Matters

Mr Harrold also predicted that Mike and Zara will take an increasingly prominent role in personal family matters, acting as "key support" for William and Kate. He said: "I imagine they will be a key part of Easter and Christmas celebrations for years to come."
