The Princess of Wales drew widespread praise from royal fans as she joined Prince William for a historic state visit in Windsor, where Britain welcomed the Sultan of Oman with full ceremonial honours.
The Princess, 44, wore a fitted green Alexander McQueen coat, recycling the bespoke piece while debuting what appeared to be a Juliette Botterill hat and Cassandra Goad Acai earrings in yellow gold. She completed the ensemble with her Prince of Wales Feathers Brooch, a black Chanel Mini Flap Bag and dark green velvet Manolo Blahnik heels.
Fans deliver one-word verdict
Royal watchers responded with a resounding one-word verdict on her appearance: “Gorgeous.” One admirer declared on X: “Catherine looks beautiful in green - such a refined, timeless choice for a historic occasion.” Another wrote: “PoW is absolute class! Always so immaculately turned out,” while a third simply exclaimed: “Gorgeous.”
A fourth echoed the sentiment, writing: “Catherine looked her usual stunning self,” while another praised her tailoring, adding: “Her silhouette is just beautiful.” One fashion enthusiast commented: “Gorgeous style and color, I’ve the shoes! Thanks for the post!”
Historic state visit
Sultan Haitham bin Tarik is undertaking a three-day state visit at the invitation of King Charles and Queen Camilla, marking the first such visit by a Sultan of Oman to Britain in 44 years. The last took place in March 1982, when Queen Elizabeth II welcomed Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the United Kingdom.
Despite a gloomy weather forecast, crowds gathered in Windsor for the traditional royal welcome and carriage procession, ahead of a state banquet at the castle.
Diplomatic significance
The visit carries considerable diplomatic weight as Britain seeks to strengthen its longstanding relationship with Oman. The two nations have maintained close ties for more than two centuries, with cooperation spanning defence, trade, investment and education.
Oman holds a strategically important position in the Middle East, with its role in regional security and diplomatic mediation adding further significance to this week's discussions. King Charles already shares an established relationship with Sultan Haitham, having welcomed him to Windsor Castle for tea and a private meeting in July 2025.
