The Princess of Wales is reportedly worried about the impact of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to the UK on her husband, Prince William. A royal source has claimed that Catherine is particularly concerned for William, with Harry's return said to have left him "apoplectic."
Sussexes arrive in the UK
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex landed at Birmingham Airport on Wednesday, reportedly travelling on a Bombardier Global Express XRS luxury long-range business jet for the overnight flight. Their move to the UK has been described as being for an "extended" period of time.
It is heavily rumoured that Harry, Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have relocated to somewhere in the Cotswolds. The children are enrolled to start at a British school in September.
Kate's concerns for William
A purported insider told Heatworld that Kate is worried for her husband. A source told the magazine: "Kate's anxious about how deeply it'll affect William. She's encouraged him to be strong, and not necessarily to slam the door. Kate knows some sort of reconciliation would ultimately bring William a sense of peace."
They added: "She doesn't need to create another battle with Meghan, but expecting her to forgive and forget would be unrealistic. The best possible outcome would be a quiet relationship with clear boundaries and no public attacks."
Estrangement and recent reunion
BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt has said Harry's return is likely to have left his brother "apoplectic". The brothers have reportedly been estranged for years, with Harry's relationship with his royal relatives, particularly Prince William, believed to have become increasingly strained since he stepped back from royal duties and moved to the United States.
The rift is said to have intensified after he and Meghan spoke publicly about their experiences within the Royal Family through a series of interviews, their Netflix docuseries and Harry's memoir Spare, published in 2023. However, the Sussexes, along with Archie and Lilibet, visited King Charles and Queen Camilla in a private reunion last month at Highgrove House, marking the first time the King had seen his grandchildren in person in more than four years.
