Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are enjoying their half-term break from Lambrook School this week, but the future King has been given an unusual chore by his mother, the Princess of Wales.
During a visit to a goat farm in Wales last year, Kate Middleton revealed that nine-year-old George was tasked with moving animal feed during the school holidays at the family's Anmer Hall home on the Sandringham estate. The comment came after Prince William spotted a robot silage sweeper and the farmer explained it could be used to move feed, prompting Kate to say: "That was George's job at half term – moving feed."
William added that his children have been getting involved on the farm at Sandringham, where King Charles has been working to turn the estate fully organic. He also mentioned that they are trying some agroforestry.
The half-term break comes after Prince George played a starring role in King Charles's Coronation, serving as a page of honour alongside three other boys. Despite the role traditionally being for boys aged 12 to 15, George was given the task due to his "deep interest" in the ceremony, according to a well-placed insider.
The insider said: "The King is very keen to show those in the line of succession, his natural heirs, at the centre of his Coronation. Even though he is only nine, George is very mature and already has a deep understanding of the roles of his grandfather and father, as well as his future role."
