Jeremy Clarkson shares hilarious dogging encounter near farm

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed another encounter with a suspected 'dogger', this time near his farm, describing the moment a teenager recognised him mid-act. The Clarkson's Farm star shared the story in The Times, following previous revelations about his pub's history as a dogging hotspot.

Encounter near the farm

Writing for The Times, Clarkson described driving back one evening from his local pub when he spotted a “suspicious-looking” car parked by the woods. He pulled up quietly to the passenger window and saw a young man, around the age of 17, smoking a “doobie” with one hand while “frantically” performing a sex act with the other.

When the teenager realised he was being watched, he wound down the window and said: “Oh my God, you’re Jeremy Clarkson.” He then added: “I rather wish we had met in different circumstances.” Clarkson described this as the best line he had ever heard.

Pub's dogging history

The 66-year-old previously shared a video on Instagram in July 2024, telling his 8.3 million followers: “Tell me you bought a pub on a dogging site without telling me you bought a pub on a dogging site.” In the clip, he held up a pair of women's underwear with a twig, pulling a disgusted expression. The video amassed more than 110,000 likes and over 1,000 comments within three hours.

Fans reacted with humour, with one commenting: “Rename the pub The Dog Inn”, another writing: “Bet that was left there as a cruel joke by James May”, and a third saying: “This is terrible! Please tell me the exact location, time and dates, so I know to avoid missing it.”

Pub purchase and popularity

Clarkson reportedly paid “less than £1 million” for The Windmill, nestled in five acres of countryside near Burford in Oxfordshire. Rebranded as The Farmer's Dog, it reopened in 2004 and has drawn crowds from across the country for pub classics made with fresh British produce and Hawkstone beer.

In his Times column, Clarkson noted: “We like to think this is mostly the preserve of suburban housewives in home country pampas places like Beaconsfield but in the not too distant past, the car park at my remote Cotswolds pub was a hot spot as well. It’s even happened, on a smaller scale, on my farm.”
