Meghan Markle is reportedly struggling with feelings of isolation and homesickness just two weeks after her move back to the UK last month. The 45-year-old returned to Britain after six years in California, with reports suggesting the Sussex family is now based in the Cotswolds.
While some reports have indicated that both Prince Harry and Meghan are excited about their new chapter in the UK, it has now been reported that Meghan feels isolated in Britain. The couple are said to be focused on ensuring their two young children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet, are settling into their new home.
Missing her mother and friends
According to a source, Meghan is missing one major thing about the US: her mum. "She is very homesick," the source tells In Touch, adding: "She misses her mom, her friends, the beach, even her chickens."
Meghan's mum, Doria Ragland, has remained in the US during her daughter's move to the UK. The source also said that the former working royal noticeably had "more freedom" whilst living in America.
"She can jump in the car to go shopping or meet someone for lunch without thinking too much about it, whereas she's much more nervous about being out in public in England, so there's a real sense of isolation," they said.
Move to 'make Harry happy again'
Another source revealed that Meghan only agreed to move back to the UK to "make Harry happy again". They added: "If she could go back home tomorrow, she would. That's just not in the cards, though. Even a quick business trip would be seen as an admission of failure."
The couple arrived back in the UK on August 26, with the pair and their children thought to have landed at Birmingham airport.
