Prince Harry has arrived at Chatham House in Central London for an Invictus Games Foundation event, marking his first engagement of a five-day visit to the UK. The Duke of Sussex appeared pensive as he arrived 25 minutes early, greeting his PR guru Miranda Barbot and security guard Christopher Sanchez.
One Year to Go for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027
The private conference is part of the “One Year to Go” celebrations for the Invictus Games set to take place in Birmingham in 2027. The event brings together members of the Invictus community, leading experts, and policymakers, including UK minister for veterans and people Calvin Bailey, to discuss issues affecting wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans eligible for the paralympic-style games.
The event began around the same time Harry was awaiting the verdict from his High Court case against ANL. It is understood he was waiting in a reading room at Chatham House when the result was due.
Harry's UK Itinerary
Later this week, Harry will travel to Birmingham to mark the official one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will conclude his UK trip. He arrived in the UK last night and attended the 'Shoot The People' UK Premiere at Picturehouse Central, supporting his friend Misan Harriman, chairman of the Southbank Centre. Harriman famously photographed Harry and Meghan's announcement of expecting Lilibet in 2021.
William's Separate Engagement 12 Miles Away
Meanwhile, just 12 miles away, Prince William undertook an engagement at Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain (The London Welsh School) in Hanwell, West London. The Prince of Wales arrived at the same time Harry's event kicked off, joining pupils to send best wishes to Team Wales ahead of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Despite the close proximity, it is understood the brothers will not meet during Harry's UK visit, as their rift remains unresolved.
Accommodation Offer Revoked
Harry arrived in the UK without his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, just hours after his accommodation offer at Buckingham Palace was revoked. Initially, Harry's spokesperson stated that he had accepted an offer to stay at the Palace for part of his visit. However, the Palace later confirmed the accommodation was no longer available.
