Prince Harry and Prince William are reportedly planning separate television projects to mark the 30th anniversary of their mother Princess Diana's death, according to reports.
Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997. Nearly three decades later, rumours are circulating over how the Royal Family will mark the occasion.
Prince Harry is reportedly in talks to create a Netflix documentary about his mother and has allegedly approached members of the family to take part. Reports now suggest Prince William is also considering taking part in a documentary, but not his brother's.
Private talks at Kensington Palace
Writing for the Daily Mail, Richard Eden said: “This is serendipitous. Yesterday, I disclosed that the Prince of Wales was considering appearing in a television documentary to mark the 30th anniversary of his late mother Princess Diana's death.
“Now, I learn that Prince William held private talks at Kensington Palace yesterday with the new Director-General of the BBC, Matt Brittin.
“On the 20th anniversary of his mother's death in 2017, William appeared with his brother, Prince Harry, in the same BBC documentary – Diana, Our Mother: Her Life And Legacy. That won't happen again given the brothers' estrangement.
“Harry is planning to make his own programme, probably for US streaming giant Netflix.”
Brothers remain estranged
The two brothers are estranged and reportedly do not have any contact. Prince Harry moved back to the UK at the end of August after quitting his role as a working royal in 2020 and moving to the USA with his wife, Meghan Markle.
The Sussexes have now made their return, bringing their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with them. They are planning to stay in the UK for what has been called an extended period of time.
Prince Harry met with his father, King Charles, in July, but it is understood that he has not met with his brother. King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the Sussexes and their two children at Highgrove House in a private meeting. The King has reportedly expressed that he welcomes the opportunity to see more of his family, including his grandchildren who he had not seen in four years, since 2022.
