Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held a private meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House earlier this month, and a royal expert has suggested the reason for the secrecy. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, met the monarch during Harry's visit to the UK. It was the first time Charles had seen his grandchildren since the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.

Buckingham Palace announced the meeting in a statement afterward but released no photos. Sources close to the Sussexes told Vanity Fair the meeting lasted about an hour and was “completely cloak-and-dagger, orchestrated by the King.” A source added: “They are keeping the meeting top secret. They haven’t said anything to anyone.”
‘Special ops’ comparison
Simon Vigar, Chief Royal Correspondent for 5News, commented on The Telegraph's royal podcast: “It was a bit special ops, wasn't it? There's no, as you say, there's no photo at all. So four years ago at St. Paul's Cathedral, of course, there were boos among the crowd there against the Duchess of Sussex. Nothing like that this time; they were sort of in and out. There was no public element to it.”
Harry to stay at Buckingham Palace in September
Prince Harry is reportedly set to be offered a room at Buckingham Palace for his next visit to the UK in September. He had been offered a room for his recent visit but the offer was revoked after short notice acceptance. Harry will return for several engagements, including the WellChild Awards, and is expected to accept the accommodation offer well in advance, according to The Sun.
