Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be back in the UK by the end of the month, and friends of the couple have shared how they feel about it. The couple left Britain six years ago when they stepped down from their roles as working royals. They have instead been living in Montecito, California, but in a shock announcement, their upcoming return to British soil was announced this week.
Friend's sweet message
One unnamed friend of the couple told the BBC: “I'm just excited to have them here.” The couple have plenty of friends in the UK who will no doubt be excited to see them when they land after more than half a decade living out of the country.
The couple have already secured somewhere to live in the UK. Meghan is known to spend time with Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, as well as her close friend, former model and Alliance of Moms founder, Kelly McKee Zajfen.
Harry's close circle
Prince Harry has maintained a friendship with record producer David Foster and his wife, Katherine McPhee, the latter of whom attended the same LA school as Meghan growing up. Harry also has a friend in Scottish presenter, ex-Royal Marine, and Invictus Games medalist JJ Chalmers.
In 2020, JJ said of Harry: “I wouldn’t be standing here today if it wasn’t for the Invictus Games, and we would never have had that if it wasn’t for him.” JJ is also expected to continue his role as an ambassador for the games which will be held in Birmingham next year.
Royal Family and children's plans
It is not yet known how the couple will interact with the Royal Family. King Charles reportedly welcomes the opportunity to see his grandchildren more, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie. The children are reportedly already enrolled at a school in the UK and will begin there in September.
Details of the family’s new home and the children’s school are being kept private. Prince Harry is reportedly not on speaking terms with his older brother, Prince William, and the pair allegedly haven’t had contact in years.
