Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to return to the UK before the end of the month, and reports say they could end up living close to another famous couple. The Sussexes have reportedly already secured a property, and while the exact location is known, it has been rumoured that it could be in the Cotswolds.
House-hunting during July visit
The couple are believed to have been house-hunting during their last visit to the country in July. Meghan is understood to have also discreetly gone there alone while Harry was at an Invictus Games event in Birmingham, reports The Sun.
The Cotswolds are a popular place for celebrities to settle as it offers privacy due to its rural surroundings.
Famous neighbours
David and Victoria Beckham could be among the Sussexes' new neighbours. The celeb couple own a country estate there, close to the exclusive Soho Farmhouse, reports Yahoo! Other Cotswolds-dwellers include Simon Cowell, who also has a property in the region, and Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who are friends of Harry and Meghan's.
In 2018, Harry and Meghan made the Cotswolds their personal hideaway when they rented an 18th-century country house on an estate of around four hectares. In January 2019, Hello! Magazine revealed how the residence had become one of their favorite retreats.
Previous retreat and family plans
The property featured four bedrooms, two kitchens, expansive outdoor space, and a separate two-bedroom cottage that could be used for guests or staff. Harry has recalled their affection for the area in his memoir Spare, writing: "We loved it out there. The air is fresh, the verdant grounds plus, no paps."
Harry and Meghan's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are set to attend school in the UK from September. On their family trip in July, the Sussexes spent five days in Britain. They were hosted by Queen Camilla and King Charles at Highgrove House in a private meeting. This marked the first time King Charles has seen his grandchildren in four years. Prince Harry reportedly did not meet with his brother, Prince William.
