Prince Harry has spoken about how his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are adjusting to life in Britain, revealing they were “tricky” before going to school one morning.
Speaking at the 2026 Wellchild Awards on Monday, Harry said: “So at breakfast this morning, they had a bit of Monday blues. But for them, breakfast this morning they were being a little bit tricky.”
Children settling into UK school
Archie, now seven, spent the first few months of his life living in the UK, while his sister Lilibet, five, has only ever known life in the US. The family relocated back to Britain in August.
Although Archie and Lilibet only lasted at their first UK school a matter of days due to security concerns, they are now happily attending a second school, which they only attend in the daytime.
Teaching awareness of his work
Harry said that because his children were being tricky about going to school, he decided to tell them about the Wellchild Awards and the children he would be meeting, and the challenges they face. He said both his children seemed fascinated by this as he tried to instil awareness in them about the kind of work he does.
Harry also revealed that his children have taken to eating Marmite on crumpets now they are back living in the UK. He added that as a family, they have been enjoying lots of walks, which Harry described as being a “British thing”.
Family life in Britain
While Archie and Lilibet have not attended any public engagements since being back in the UK, Meghan Markle has been sharing snippets of the family’s time in Britain on her Instagram, including clips of her children bike-riding, running and fishing in the British countryside.
