Georgina Rodriguez 'adopts' Ronaldo's eldest children

Georgina Rodriguez has reportedly adopted Cristiano Ronaldo's three eldest children, just one week after the couple married in an intimate ceremony at their coastal Portuguese mansion. The adoption process is said to have been carried out in secret to keep the proceedings private.

Wedding and Family Background

Ronaldo, 41, and Rodriguez, 32, tied the knot last week in a low-key ceremony attended only by their children and four witnesses. The couple had been together for ten years prior to the wedding, during which they had two children together: Alana, nine, and Bella Esmeralda, four.

Ronaldo also has three older children: Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, 16, whose mother has not been named, and twins Eva Maria and Mateo, nine, who were born via surrogate. Portuguese outlets have now reported that Rodriguez has adopted the eldest three.

Rodriguez's Relationship with the Children

Rodriguez has previously referred to Cristiano Jr as her son. In an Instagram post from earlier this month, she wrote: "Fairy tale Baptism. It was always my dream to bathe in a waterfall. Junior, a sculptor, and his talent in everything he sets his mind to. Since he was little, this trip has been our special time."

Speaking about a picture of Ronaldo, herself, and Cristiano Jr, she added: "Dad, Mom, and him, together at sea, summer after summer. Cris the explorer, Cris and the moon, Seafood tastes even better at sea. This year we've discovered many coves."

Ceremony Details and Reflections

Ronaldo and Rodriguez first met when she was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. They married on the tenth anniversary of the day they met, in their living room, with the groom opting for a casual top and suit jacket rather than a three-piece suit. Both wore Gucci as a nod to how they met.

Rodriguez told Vogue that he wanted to have the ceremony where they "have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives." She added that in 30 years' time, she hoped the children would look at the table and think "something wonderful happened" there, and that they would always remember "the wedding vows of our parents."

She also admitted that she had dreamed of a much bigger wedding as a child, wanting "the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds," but they ultimately decided on something much simpler. Announcing the marriage, the pair posted a picture on Instagram of their hands bearing wedding rings, captioned "C [heart emoji] G."
