GB News Interrupts Broadcast for Prince William's Mother's Day Tribute to Diana

GB News host Camilla Tominey halted her regular programming on Sunday to deliver breaking news: Prince William had shared a previously unseen photograph of himself as a toddler with his late mother, Princess Diana, to mark Mother's Day. The image, taken at Highgrove in 1985, shows a two-year-old William in a field of flowers alongside Diana.

The Prince of Wales accompanied the snapshot with a heartfelt message on social media: 'Thinking of my mother today and every day. Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Happy Mother's Day. W.' Tominey noted that this year would have marked Diana's 65th birthday.

Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 at the age of 36, when William was 15 and his brother Prince Harry was 12. In a 2017 documentary, William spoke about ensuring his own children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—know about their grandmother. 'I constantly talk to them about Granny Diana,' he said, adding that he shows them photos and tells them they have two grandmothers.

The Royal Family's official X account also posted a Mother's Day tribute, sharing black-and-white photographs of the late Queen Elizabeth II with the message: 'Wishing Mothers everywhere, and those who might be missing their Mums today, a restful Mothering Sunday.'
