Princess Eugenie's husband 'alarmed' by Andrew's wedding procession demand

Princess Eugenie's husband Jack Brooksbank was left 'alarmed' by a demand from Prince Andrew regarding their wedding procession, according to a new biography. The claim appears in Hugo Vickers' book Queen Elizabeth II: A Personal History.

Vickers writes that Andrew was annoyed that no major television networks would cover the wedding on 12 October 2018, so he persuaded a company to film it. However, Brooksbank was alarmed when Andrew insisted on a procession through Windsor, fearing that no one would turn out to cheer them. In the end, Windsor turned out in force and there was a good crowd.

The revelation comes amid ongoing scrutiny of the roles of Princess Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice within the Royal Family, following the fallout from questions over Prince Andrew's association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Royal journalist Matt Wilkinson expressed sympathy for the sisters, saying he hoped King Charles would find a way to include them. 'I think the King wants them both to not pay for the sins of their parents, but I'm not sure there is mass public sympathy for them at the moment,' Wilkinson said. He noted that both have strong support networks, including their supportive and wealthy husbands.

Eugenie turned 36 earlier this year and was recently spotted skiing in Switzerland with her family, keeping a low profile on her birthday. ReachPlc has approached Jack Brooksbank for comment.
