The young Earl of Wessex has left royal fans speechless over his uncanny resemblance to one major royal. The 18-year-old, son of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, has surprised fans with how much he looks like his dad.
In a new picture, seen by HELLO!, of Edward and James driving to the Balmoral estate—where the royals spent time during summer—the teenager is seen looking exactly like Edward. Wearing a blue sweatshirt and black gilet, James can be seen driving, with Edward in the passenger seat.
Fans React to the Striking Photo
One fan took to social media to share how much Edward looked like his own late father in the picture. The fan wrote: "A friend sent me this photo and said, 'If you look at it quickly, it looks like a young Edward with his dad, Prince Philip, out for a drive in the car,' and God, she's right!"
Others agreed, with one writing, "Oh wow. The resemblance is incredible." A second also remarked: "Edward's son looks exactly like him here." Many fans also admitted that they had to do a "double take" after seeing the new picture.
University Plans Revealed
James walked behind his dad at a royal event earlier this year. After receiving his A-level results earlier this month, Buckingham Palace revealed that the young royal will start university next month.
The statement said: "Having achieved the grades he needed, the Earl of Wessex will be going to the Royal Agricultural University to study Rural Land & Property Management. He will head straight there without taking a year out."
His sister, Lady Louise Windsor, was pictured at her graduation earlier this summer. She attended the University of St Andrews, which is the same university attended by Prince William and Princess Catherine.
