Buckingham Palace has released a video of Duchess Sophie dancing during her solo royal tour in Zambia, prompting a wave of enthusiastic reactions from royal fans. The Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Southern African country last week at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Engagements Across Zambia
During her time in Zambia, the duchess carried out a number of engagements in Lusaka, Lower Zambezi and Livingstone. These engagements were linked to matters close to her heart, including gender equality, climate and nature, and education and research partnerships.
While much of the tour focused on serious matters, Duchess Sophie still found time for some fun. This included playing basketball with local schoolchildren and dancing with the locals.
Fans React to the Video
The Royal Family shared a video of her dancing online, and many royal fans were quickly sent into a frenzy. One person commented: “People are going wild because she has a magical aura, just like a global superstar!!! Simply cool!!!”

Luggage Delay on Tour
While the tour was a success for Sophie, it was not all smooth sailing. The duchess had to start her first engagements last Monday in her “aeroplane clothes” after her luggage was delayed. She took this all in her stride and carried on her engagements as usual.
Prince Edward did not accompany his wife on her tour.
