Duchess of Kent Funeral: Royal Family and Dignitaries Gather for Private Farewell
Duchess of Kent's Funeral Held at Windsor Chapel

The Royal Family gathered with close friends and dignitaries on Tuesday for the private funeral of Katharine, Duchess of Kent, at the historic St George's Chapel in Windsor.

The late Duchess, who was 88, passed away peacefully at her home on 2nd January. She was the widow of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and a beloved figure known for shunning the limelight in favour of extensive charity work and her passion for music.

The Dean of Windsor, the Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth, led the intimate service. The ceremony was a poignant and personal farewell, reflecting the Duchess's own quiet and unassuming nature.

Among the attendees were members of the Royal Family, paying their respects to a woman who had been a steadfast presence for decades. The Duchess was renowned for her decades of dedication to numerous charitable causes, particularly in the fields of music education and children's welfare.

A talented musician herself, she was a frequent and supportive attendee at concerts and musical events across the country. Her commitment to her patronages was unwavering, even in later years.

Following the service, a private burial was conducted. The family has requested that instead of flowers, well-wishers consider making a donation to one of the Duchess's many cherished charities, continuing her legacy of generosity and compassion.
