Denise Welch has lived in Wilmslow, part of Cheshire's affluent Golden Triangle, for more than 20 years. The actress and broadcaster moved there with her then-husband Tim Healy when her son Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, was nine years old.
A Home Filled with Art and Memories
She and her current husband, artist Lincoln Townley, spent many happy years in their brightly coloured home, with walls covered in Lincoln's art. Denise often spoke fondly of the location, just a mile from the town centre.
After splitting from Tim Healy in 2012, the couple remained on good terms, with Tim also living in the area.
Arson Attack and Move to France
In 2020, the couple's home was damaged in an arson attack. A stalker set fire to their driveway skip, and the blaze spread through the garage, causing thousands of pounds in damage. No one was harmed.
In 2024, Denise and Lincoln announced on social media that they had decided to move away from their home. In April of this year, Denise posted about house hunting in France with her former Loose Women co-star Carol McGiffin.
She wrote: "Been house hunting in France near to our much missed friends @mcgiff and @cassola21 . Fab few days with my @lincolntownley #younghubbies #theysaiditwouldntlast"
The Golden Triangle's Appeal
For now, the couple still call Cheshire home. Wilmslow is one of the most sought-after and expensive areas to live in the UK outside central London, with average house prices around £540,000 to £550,000.
The area is known as the Golden Triangle due to the number of footballers, celebrities, and business people living between Alderley Edge, Prestbury, and Wilmslow. It has been home to A-listers including Marcus Rashford, David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, and the Rooney family.
