Brooklyn Beckham has been accused of "rage baiting Guinness drinkers" after sharing a picture of his pint on social media, which some insisted was a terrible pint. The 27-year-old eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham tagged Guinness in his Instagram Stories post, which showed a pint of unsettled Guinness in an icy, unbranded glass.
The glass looked ice cold and partially frozen at the bottom, but there wasn't a clear line of definition between the white foam on the top of the pint and the dark brown of the stout. This has sent many followers into a tizzy, with some insistent that the star was deliberately trying to rile up some of his fans.
Fans react to the pint
"Rage bait for Guinness drinkers," said one commenter. "OMG Noooooooo the whole of Ireland wept," commented another with a series of laughing emojis. "Whoever poured that pint should be sacked," said another with laughing emojis.
Some leapt to Brooklyn's defence, with one commenter arguing it was "freshly poured and still rising" with the foam yet to properly settle.
Previous cooking controversies
In 2017, Brooklyn was mercilessly mocked for pouring an 'abysmal' pint which was shared by his then-girlfriend, Chloe Grace Moretz. Brooklyn regularly shares foodie posts on his Instagram page and has been met with a lot of pushback over his posts.
He has made it clear on numerous occasions that he "isn't a chef" and considers himself a home cook or food enthusiast rather than a trained professional, but just yesterday had to defend himself after sharing a cottage pie recipe. Rather than peeling his potatoes before boiling them, Brooklyn boiled them whole with the skins still on, before attempting to peel the scalding hot, softened potatoes afterwards. Commenters branded it the "weirdest way to do potatoes".
Defending his wife
Following the backlash, Brooklyn fired back with a six-word response, telling followers: "I'm obviously not a professional chef." He also had a response for another troll who took aim at his wife. The troll wrote: "Do you comment on everyone who is concerned about your wife and how sickly she looks? She puts herself out there. Feed her."
Brooklyn was quick to fire back in defence of his wife, replying: "Don't ever talk about my wife. She's absolutely beautiful and you should never comment on a woman's body. It's disgraceful."
This isn't the first time he has had to defend his cooking online. Earlier this month he re-shared a viral 'tomato pasta' recipe on TikTok where instead of salting water in a saucepan, Brooklyn took the pan to the back of a boat where he was holidaying to collect water from the sea. "Of course we get some pasta water," he said in the TikTok video. Fans took umbrage with this as a hygiene issue, stating that Brooklyn had no business using seawater as a substitute for salted tap water.
Brooklyn was also previously slammed for serving up blackened pizza in a clip plugging his new hot sauce, and was branded out of touch for piling layers of truffle slices on a simple pasta dish.
