Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have reportedly both visited their mother, Sarah Ferguson, at her new UK rental home, a source has claimed. The sisters, who have avoided being seen in public with their parents as a result of scandals surrounding their former friendships with Jeffrey Epstein, are said to have gone to the Home Counties to see their mum.
New Rental Property
This comes after the news that she is reportedly renting a £10,000-a-month home in a gated community. The property is believed to have six bedrooms in total.
The news that Sarah has a home in the UK may surprise some, as since the Epstein Files scandals late last year, the former duchess has been staying away from the UK. She was known to have spent a great deal of time at an Austrian ski chalet.
Epstein Files Context
This is because the files showed that Sarah kept in touch with Epstein even after he was convicted of child sex offences. Emails between the pair showed that they had met for lunch and kept in touch, with Sarah even heaping praise on him. The former Duchess has always denied wrongdoing and expressed regret over her friendship with the late convicted paedophile.
While the sisters were not pictured visiting Sarah, royal commentator Phil Dampier claims they have both visited the property. He told Hello! Magazine: “I don't think they want to be seen with her in public at the moment, and she probably realises it's not a good idea either, but behind the scenes they are talking and trying to be supportive.”
Relationship Dynamics
Dampier also claimed that the sisters have been actively evaluating who they are associating themselves with. It is believed that while they are still on talking terms with their mum, they do not have the strong relationship they once had.
This is despite rumours that after Eugenie gave birth to her daughter Adelaide earlier this year, Sarah reportedly went to stay with the family at their Portugal mansion. It is believed she went to stay with the family to help Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank adapt to being parents of three.
Eugenie has shared a handful of photographs on Instagram of her baby daughter over the first few months of her life, but none of these feature Sarah. It is still unclear whether Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Eugenie’s father, who was also involved in scandals surrounding Epstein, has met his granddaughter.
Living Arrangements
It is also unclear whether Andrew still talks to his ex-wife Sarah, whom he cohabited with for years at Royal Lodge in Windsor before they were handed an eviction notice last year. While Sarah spent time abroad and is now renting, Andrew is living in Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate.
This is a farmhouse that was renovated and given to Andrew to live in by King Charles. It is believed Sarah had no interest in moving to the new property with her ex-husband.
